LGV Driver Training

At By-Pass we have been training LGV Drivers for over 25 years and have an excellent pass rate with the training being conducted by our long serving instructors.

LGV Category C (rigid vehicles)

An LGV provisional is required for this training (application form are available from us for this) and you will need to pass your theory exams before taking your practical test. The theory exams consist of a Multiple Choice Test, Hazard Perception and finally a CPC Case Studies Test if you intend to drive professionally. We stock all revision material required for your theory exams.

Our training sessions are three hours in duration covering all aspects required to pass the LGV Driving Test. To determine the amount of training sessions you would require we offer a FREE assessment where you get to meet our instructors and drive one of our truck, courses range from five sessions to seven or eight sessions but typically a six session course is required.

If you are to drive professionally you will need to pass the Driver CPC Practical Test, once passed the DSA will issue you a DQC (Driver Qualification Card) which you must carry with you when driving.

Vehicles used for Category C Training are two Scania trucks which are commonly used in the transport industry.

LGV Category C+E (articulated vehicles)

This training can be carried out once you have passed your category C test, again a FREE assessment is available to determine the amount of sessions required.

Our training vehicle is a Volvo FM12 complete with a tri-axle trailer overall combination of 56 feet in length.'
